Milling CNC blades

Very stringent requirements for surface quality and geometry (including continuous curvature change) make blade milling an extremely complicated technological process. An additional factor complicating the process is the need to use hard-wearing materials resistant to wear, among others titanium, cobalt and nickel alloys. These materials allow the rotors to work in very difficult environmental conditions (high temperatures, high pressure and enormous rotational speeds).

Turbine blades

One of the basic elements of the turbine is the blade, which is directly responsible for contact with the flowing medium. Blades combined into a palisade system allow the energy of flowing gas or liquid to be converted into mechanical energy.

Blade milling requires the use of the full capabilities of a multi-axis machining center, advanced milling strategies, and specially selected tools. Depending on the shape of the blades, we can use the spiral milling strategy using radius end mills or SWARF (Side Wall Axial Relief Feed) technology that allows machining the side of the cutter.
